Children in state care are running away and living on the streets

Children in state-run group homes are leaving and living on the street where they may be trafficked and exploited. They have no sense of belonging. The BC government does not report them as missing to police for an average of 53 days. Some of these reports are considered “an unnecessary and unmanageable burden on both MCFD/centralized screening staff and police/RCMP resources”.
