SEEKING PARENTS FOR LEGAL ACTION REGARDING DISCRIMINATION AGAINST PARENTAL CHILD CARE
Kids First Parent Association of Canada is a volunteer parent-run charity promoting the optimal well-being of children and recognition of parental care of children since 1987.
We are preparing legal action addressing laws that discriminate against parental child care.
We seek the equal treatment guaranteed by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
THE PROBLEM:
Laws define ‘early learning and child care’ to exclude parental child care.
This discriminates against the women, parents, and children excluded by the laws.
Billions in public funding for ‘early learning and child care’ do not provide any financial support for the majority of children in Canada.
Parents are socially and financially coerced to use licensed daycare.
Parents are shamed and stigmatized by government for prioritizing parental child care work. We are told this work is not work.
GET INVOLVED:
We are seeking parents of children 0-12 to be complainants in this case.
There are no costs involved to complainants.
Donations are welcome.
Representative complainants will have one or more of the following characteristics:
1 – single mother who is primary care provider
2 – single father who is primary care provider
3 – married mother
4 – mother or father with a disability
5 – mother or father of racial minority in lower wage job
6 – indigenous mother or father
7 – mother or father of a disabled child
Interested potential complainants please contact Kids First Parent Association of Canada at info@kidsfirstcanada.org 604-291-0088
