London School of Economics Senior Research Fellow, Dr Catherine Hakim, argues against expanded maternity/parental leave (EI) saying it does not help women in general. She finds most mothers do not have or want full time jobs.
Daycare proponents now argue for extending parental leave to 18 months and requiring fathers to take a portion in the name of “gender equity.” Dr Catherine Hakim shows this contradicts the evidence.
