Economist James Heckman’s research on the cost-benefit of very high quality early intervention programs for very underprivileged inner city children is grossly misrepresented by daycare lobbyists to claim that all daycare, preschool, or all-day kindergarten programs produce $1.50 – $17+ for every $1 ‘invested’ in them.
